Skilled Worker

A Skilled Worker visa allows an individual to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer (meaning your employer has a Sponsor License) and to make an application you need to have obtained a Confirmation of Sponsorship (CoS) from your employer. This visa category replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa a while ago.

To apply for a Skilled Worker visa you must also:

  • have an offer for a job that is on the list of eligible occupations

  • be paid a minimum salary - how much depends on the type of work you will do and the type of job it is

  • be able to read, write, speak and listen in English at a required level (known as knowledge of English)
