Skilled Worker
A Skilled Worker visa allows an individual to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer (meaning your employer has a Sponsor License) and to make an application you need to have obtained a Confirmation of Sponsorship (CoS) from your employer. This visa category replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa a while ago.
To apply for a Skilled Worker visa you must also:

have an offer for a job that is on the list of eligible occupations

be paid a minimum salary - how much depends on the type of work you will do and the type of job it is

be able to read, write, speak and listen in English at a required level (known as knowledge of English)
You might also:

require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate if your employer informs you that you need one because the job involves researching a sensitive subject at PhD level or higher

need to evidence that you have enough personal savings to support yourself in the UK unless your employer certifies your finances on your CoS

need a tuberculosis (TB) test if you are from certain countries

need to provide proof of your relationship(s) if you wish to bring dependants with you (like partners/children)

need a a criminal record certificate - if you are working in certain jobs and

need an academic transcript of certificate for your qualification(s) (e.g. PhD certificate) if this is required by your employer as part of the job application process
